Serena Casey is a community organizer and permaculture designer with Water Is Life Design (WILD) in southern Arizona. A native of Bisbee who spent time in rural Mexico, she was inspired to live sustainably and reject wasteful habits upon returning to the U.S. After earning a business degree in 2007 and taking her first permaculture course in 2008, she founded the Ecoasis Sustainable Living Center, creating programs and serving on local sustainability boards. She later earned a degree in Sustainable Community Development from Prescott College and founded Community Synergy Solutions, a nonprofit that launched gardens, health expos, and other community projects. In 2024, she completed her Permaculture Design Certification with the Sonoran Permaculture Guild and joined Rudy Poe as a partner in WILD. A mother of five, Serena finds joy in tending her edible gardens and designing regenerative spaces that foster thriving communities and ecosystems.
